The Emergency Room Department (ER) at Henry Ford Cottage Hospital is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week and is ready for any emergency, sees patients faster than most ERs, and is able to treat very serious and even life-threatening concerns, right in your own backyard.
Henry Ford Cottage Hospital's ER is staffed by board-certified Henry Ford Medical Group emergency medicine physicians and nursing staff who are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support with specialized emergency training. Most of our care providers have worked in very busy ERs, including Henry Ford Hospital's Level 1 Trauma Center.
The ER at Henry Ford Cottage Hospital is prepared to care for patients with the most severe illnesses and injuries including:
Chest pain
Injuries
Mental health crises
Obstetrics and gynecology
Pediatrics
Stroke
Patients cared for at our ER are seen very quickly and in most cases are in and out within a short period of time. Patients with more serious illnesses or injuries may stay longer, be admitted to Cottage's inpatient unit or transferred to Henry Ford Hospital. Patients who need to go to Henry Ford Hospital are directly admitted to the ER or hospital, when appropriate, and all the tests done at Cottage follow the patient, so nothing is done twice.
